Weingut Zehe
Precision, balance, and emotion – The story behind the Weingut Zehe wine label
When science meets soul, design takes on a new dimension. That was the vision behind the packaging for Weingut Zehe, a distinctive wine brand under the renowned Velis Vineyards. From the start, our challenge at Dagaprint was to turn a deeply personal concept into a packaging experience that communicates clarity, structure, and emotional resonance.
A label that reflects identity:
This label is a visual narrative of heritage and innovation. The design developed by the Lablermaker, centers around a sculptural “M” for Michael Zehe, the founder, executed in refined copper hot foil with a roof emboss and a micro-engraved texture. It’s precise, bold, and unmistakably confident.
Beneath it, a custom-designed “W” for Weingut is deeply debossed into the paper. Between the two, an equal sign in metallic foil creates a perfect axis of symmetry. The balance of elements represents both structure and personal philosophy — a design decision that carries quiet impact.
A scientific metaphor turned design element:
One of the most unique features is the top half of the label: a transparent spectral pattern stamped in semi-matte foil. It subtly shifts under light, evoking a scientific spectrum and tying into the wine’s concept of variation and complexity. This element brings technical storytelling into the design, giving the label an elegant, almost analytical presence.
At the base, the name Zehe is also printed in embossed transparent foil, maintaining the vertical design loop. And in a discreet corner of the “W,” a small debossed heart – a delicate tribute to the brand’s motto: “Aus Liebe zum Wein” (Out of love for wine).
Built for tiered branding:
The label adapts seamlessly across three wine tiers: a white-and-silver base, a white-and-gold mid-tier, and a dark grey-and-copper premium version. This flexible architecture allows for visual distinction while preserving brand consistency — a true advantage of thoughtful wine label design.
A symphony of color and texture:
The label’s palette—a sophisticated turquoise set against matte copper hot foil. It was chosen to mirror Kristone Craft Gin’s refined character. Dagaprint’s precision in color matching and foil stamping brings forth a label that beckons with its elegant contrast. Furthermore, it promises a sensory exploration through its debossed texture and custom embossing.
The label is printed on high-quality, smooth paper stock that supports every detail with precision and depth. The execution was entrusted to our team at Dagaprint, where we delivered with flawless foil alignment, crisp embossing, and finish perfection. The packaging is completed with a classic fluted Rhein bottle and Stelvin cap, custom-branded with the ZEHE name.
The Weingut Zehe project is another milestone in our long-term collaboration with the Labelmaker and Velis Vineyards. Every detail – from the foil to the tactile elements – was chosen to enhance storytelling through design.
Because for us at Dagaprint, packaging is not just a surface.
It’s a message, a feeling, and a moment – wrapped around a bottle.
