The Copper Pot
The Copper Pot: Designing and printing a label that tells a story
Four Friends, a boutique bulgarian winery, is celebrated for producing high-quality wines in limited quantities. Among its offerings, The Copper Pot stands out as a premium wine that marries tradition and innovation. Crafted from eight grape varieties, the wine represents the best of each harvest, blending both vintage charm and modern techniques to create a truly exceptional experience.
A unique blend:
The Copper Pot’s distinctive character stems from its dynamic blend of carefully selected grapes. Each year, the team behind Four Friends evaluates the harvest and chooses only the finest varieties to create a unique blend. This evolving formula ensures that every vintage of The Copper Pot is a fresh, intriguing take on the region’s best offerings. The wine is then aged in a selection of barrels, some of which have been reused for added depth, creating a truly multifaceted taste profile.
The labelmaker’s design vision:
When it came to designing a label worthy of The Copper Pot, the Labelmaker took full creative control. His vision was to capture the wine’s complexity and exclusivity through a label that would stand out on the shelf. The final design features a multi-layered concept, combining different types of paper stock to reflect the various layers of flavor found in the wine itself.
By using two luxurious cotton papers — one snow white, the other pale cream — the design strikes a harmonious balance between elegance and sophistication. The white section includes a poetic note from the winemaker, while the cream-colored portion offers the technical details, providing a complete picture of the wine’s story.
Exclusivity in every detail:
At the heart of the label’s design is its top layer: a custom metal foil element that features 3D embossing and individual numbering, reinforcing the exclusivity of The Copper Pot. With just 900 bottles produced per year, this wine is a true collector’s item, and the custom numbering makes each bottle feel even more personal and unique.
Design inspirations:
The Labelmaker drew inspiration from classical design elements, particularly the ornate patterns found in 18th and 19th-century banknotes. This influence can be seen in the intricate Guilloché engraving on the metal foil, which adds depth and texture to the label. The overall design skillfully blends timeless, traditional motifs with a clean, modern aesthetic, making it as visually compelling as the wine is flavorful.
Printing such a complex label was a challenge that Dagaprint was eager to take on. Combining three different paper stocks, metal foil, 3D embossing, and custom numbering required precision and craftsmanship. Our team’s dedication to quality ensured that every detail was executed flawlessly, from the rich texture of the cotton papers to the shimmering metallic accents. The result is a label that not only complements the wine’s premium nature but elevates its presence, giving customers an immediate sense of luxury.
What truly sets The Copper Pot label apart is its tactile experience. The mix of premium cotton paper stocks creates a label that feels as luxurious as the wine tastes. The intricate details of the metal foil and embossing add layers of sophistication that align perfectly with the exclusivity of the wine. Each bottle, with its unique number, becomes not just a drink, but a collector’s piece—a true symbol of the art of winemaking and design.
The Copper Pot is an experience of taste, craftsmanship, and storytelling. From the carefully selected grapes to the custom-designed label by the Labelmaker and the flawless execution by us at Dagaprint, every element of this wine is crafted with precision and passion.
