So, having the opportunity to collaborate with Medi Valley on their new and unique wine speaks volumes about our dedication to perfection. Our recent venture with the winery has allowed us to partake in a journey for the Rondo wine label. It celebrates a variety once hidden in the annals of viticulture history and now thriving in the fertile soils of Bulgaria.
The grape’s journey:
Rondo, with its roots dating back to 1964, has weathered time and terrains. Developed by the visionary Professor Willem Kraus and later refined by Dr. Helmut Becker, this early-maturing, robust variety found a new chapter in Bulgaria, thanks to the passionate vintner Val Markov. Today, Medi Valley Winery has unveiled the potential of Rondo, crafting a wine that is as rich in aroma as it is in history, all culminating in their first vintage of 2022.
The wine:
The wine itself is a masterpiece, hand-harvested with precision and fermented with care. Aged in French oak barrels, it is a symphony of flavors, boasting a palate that sings with notes of blackberries, violets, and an assortment of spices, rounded off by a tantalizing aftertaste. It is the epitome of Medi Valley’s ethos: wines that are recognizably distinct, high in quality, and resplendent in character.
The label’s craft:
The challenge for us at Dagaprint was to encapsulate this exceptional narrative in a label. And that we did, with a design that radiates the wine’s unique identity. The Labelmaker’s vision was brought to life through our advanced Label over Label technology and bold embossing, giving the Rondo name a tactile dimension that invites touch. Every element of the wine’s story – from the varietal and acidity to the soil and winemaker – is presented with clarity, creating a label that commands attention and celebrates the wine within.
