Battery storage for solar energy and an engineer staring at it

Powering the Future: Dagaprint’s Printing Practices with Solar Energy & Battery Storage

Investing in a greener future

At Dagaprint, sustainability is a core part of how we operate. As a printing house, we recognize the importance of minimizing our environmental footprint while maintaining the highest quality standards for our clients.

One of our biggest milestones in this journey has been the installation of a 200 kW rooftop solar power system, ensuring that our production is powered by clean, renewable energy. But we didn’t stop there.

To take our sustainability efforts to the next level, we’ve now added a state-of-the-art energy storage system, allowing us to maximize the use of solar power and reduce reliance on external energy sources.

With these innovations, Dagaprint is setting new standards for sustainability in the printing industry.

How our rooftop system works

Our 200 kW solar panel system, installed on the rooftop of our printing facility, is designed to produce clean electricity for our daily operations.

  • On sunny days, we can fully power our machines using only solar energy.
  • Any excess energy is stored in our new battery system or fed back into the national grid, contributing to Bulgaria’s renewable energy supply.
  • On cloudy days or peak demand periods, stored solar energy helps us maintain operations without drawing from the general energy network.

This balance between self-sufficiency and sustainability ensures that we reduce our carbon footprint, while also making a positive contribution to the energy market by supplying clean energy back into the grid.

The next step: Our new battery storage system

While solar energy is a game-changer, it comes with one major challenge — it depends on sunlight. That’s why we took a step further by installing a new Huawei Smart String energy storage system.

What does this change for us?

  • Optimized energy use: The battery allows us to store excess solar power for use when the sun isn’t shining.
  • Less dependence on the grid: This reduces our reliance on conventional energy sources, lowering operational costs and emissions.
  • A more stable & efficient energy flow: The battery helps regulate fluctuations in supply and demand, ensuring uninterrupted production at Dagaprint.

This next-generation energy storage system is a game-changer in our mission to make printing more sustainable, efficient, and eco-friendly.

Why sustainability matters in printing

The printing industry has traditionally been energy-intensive, but we do our best to make a change, considering this:

  • Using solar power and energy storage means fewer emissions and a cleaner production process.
  • Energy independence helps us reduce costs, ensuring efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Sustainability is the future, and we are proud to be among the pioneers leading the way in green printing solutions.

We believe that great packaging and label printing shouldn’t come at the cost of the planet. That’s why we’re investing in smart, sustainable solutions—because every detail matters.

Looking ahead: Our green printing vision

Our solar power system and energy storage technology are just the beginning. We remain dedicated to exploring new ways to improve sustainability, reduce waste, and optimize energy efficiency in our production process.

We see sustainability not as a trend but as a responsibility. Powering print with the sun.
