Borra De La Vega

Exciting entry into Spain: The print mastery behind Borra de la Vega’s wine label

Diving into Spain’s illustrious wine tradition has been an inspiring journey for us at Dagaprint. At the epicenter of this exploration stands Borra de la Vega, a wine of distinction from the biodynamic vineyards of Olite, representing a blend of dedicated winemaking, profound respect for tradition, and an embrace of modern innovation.

The essence of Borra de la Vega is beautifully captured in its label. Designed by our partner the Labelmaker, the label is a harmonious fusion of contemporary and classic aesthetics. As the silent storytellers, we at Dagaprint took on the task of translating this intricate design into tangible form.

The foundation of this label, a textured paper, was chosen to offer a tactile experience, ensuring that every touch resonates with the wine’s ethos. The shade of grey we employed stands as a testament to this wine’s elegance and the richness of its heritage.

Central to the label is the winery’s emblem, a design element of paramount importance. A contemporary qvevri vessel silhouette, which symbolizes the winemaking tradition, intertwines seamlessly with a Dutch windmill, hinting at the winemaker’s Dutch roots and the continuous journey of innovation in winemaking. Using gunmetal hotfoil for stamping, we ensured that every detail of the logo, from its modern lines to its historical roots, was highlighted with sharpness and clarity.

Additionally, the label’s name, “Borra de la Vega,” holds a depth of narrative. It intertwines the surnames of Annabelle and her partner, integral forces behind Bodegas Enclave’s narrative. We took great care to ensure the print clarity and prominence of this name, making it a focal point on the label and subtly underscoring the deep connection between the wine’s creation and its creators.

The design and print choices weren’t just about aesthetics; they are pivotal in communicating the essence of Borra de la Vega. As the printing house, our role was to ensure that every nuance, every detail, and every story encapsulated within the design was brought to life in its full glory. The end result is a label that doesn’t just sit on a bottle but speaks volumes about the wine it represents and the stories interwoven in its creation.
