Redesigning an icon: The subtle evolution of Levent
Some labels don’t need reinvention – they need refinement.
When Levent Winery, one of Bulgaria’s most established names in wine, approached the idea of updating its classic label, the mission for the Labelmaker was clear: preserve the legacy, elevate the details.
With the Sauvignon Blanc as the first in line, this Levent wine label redesign marks the beginning of a quiet transformation that will soon shape the entire Levent range – from whites and rosés to bold reds.
Balancing past and present:
The new Levent label doesn’t erase history, it builds on it. It keeps the recognizable elements that have defined the brand for over a decade:
- the elongated label shape,
- the refined silver framing,
- and the familiar Levent logo – all preserved but reimagined through a more contemporary lens.
The silhouette remains, now printed on premium paper stock with a fine, soft texture that enhances the sensory experience. The iconic silver frame was reworked with micro-debossed typography running along its edge – a detail only visible up close, but one that leaves a lasting impression.
Logo meets legacy:
At the heart of this Levent wine label design is the logo – a bridge between old and new. Inspired by the winery’s unique location, where a historic 19th-century Ottoman fortress stands near the towering 204-meter Ruse TV Tower, the logo visually blends tradition and modernity.
We treated the logo as a centerpiece:
- Deep embossing and micro-embossed lines create a sense of sculptural depth.
- The brand name Levent is embossed in a rich, dark grey foil from KURZ, which adds a subtle contrast to the metallic silver frame.
Craftsmanship in every detail:
Designed by the Labelmaker, printed with precision by Dagaprint, the new Levent label delivers on every promise – clarity, elegance, and tactile finesse. This isn’t a flashy redesign. It’s one grounded in material quality and print craftsmanship.
Each detail, from the micro textures to the raised elements, is designed to be felt as much as seen.
Keeping the message:
A small inscription near the base, present on every Levent bottle for over ten years, remains untouched. Timeless in its tone, it feels even more relevant against the backdrop of this refined design.
A script signature of “Levent” in silver foil adds a final, personal flourish. The label is applied to the same Bordeaux Conica bottle, and the upgraded capsule in metallic silver tin echoes the label’s tones – including the crowned “B” embossed on the top disk.
This Levent wine label redesign is a case study in thoughtful evolution. It doesn’t shout for attention – it draws you in with quiet confidence. By honoring the visual DNA of the brand and elevating every detail, the new label sets the stage for the next chapter of Levent wines.
Because great design doesn’t always mean changing everything — it means knowing what to keep.
